Travel Protection Plan

Our Travel Protection Plan is truly exceptional in the student travel market.

Protecting you, your travel investment, and your belongings from unforeseen circumstances that may arise before or during your trip.

We recognize the importance of travel protection. For this reason, Academic Expeditions provides a Travel Protection Base Plan.  The plan is available to citizens of the United States and Canada and includes Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Accident and Sickness Medical Expense, Medical Evacuation, Baggage Loss and Baggage Delay coverage.

Additionally, upon registration travelers also have the option to upgrade the Base Plan to also include Cancel for Any Reason Insurance (CFAR) at a nominal fee. The CFAR premium is nonrefundable and allows travelers to cancel up to 48 hours prior to departure for any reason and receive reimbursement in the amount of 75% of trip payments made to Academic Expeditions that are not already refunded according to our Terms & Conditions. CFAR is not currently available for residents of New York.

The insurance benefits are underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company, Eatontown and NJ.

Non-insurance related services are provided by Generali Global Assistance and Global Xpi and are not underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company.

Academic Expeditions is not an insurer, nor liable for any coverage amounts, and is not qualified or authorized to answer technical questions about the benefits, exclusions, or conditions of plan coverage.

Insurance claims are filed directly between the traveler/claimant and the plan administrator Trip Mate, Inc. (in CA & UT, dba Trip Mate Insurance Agency) 9225 Ward Parkway, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64114, 1-833-297-2255
